Hold Me Tight Workshop for Couples

A Weekend to Repair, Reconnect and Rekindle Your Relationship

May 5-6, 2018

The beautiful and historic Promisek at Three Rivers Farm in Bridgewater is the setting for this event, facilitated by Monica Kim Roberts and Liliana Doyon, both Connecticut Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, and featuring yoga by Aaron Warren, founder of Manipura Yoga.

Hold Me Tight® was developed by Dr. Susan Johnson, the developer of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT).  EFT has been heralded by Time Magazine and the New York Times as the couples therapy with the highest success rate: 75% of EFT couples report higher levels of emotional connection and relief from marital distress.

During the weekend, couples will break through their negative patterns to become more attuned and present with one another.    Key concepts of adult love relationships are explained, and video clips of actual couples working through their own cycles are used as a model.  Experiential processes take place between partners in order to maintain comfort and emotional safety.  There will be breaks for private couple reflection and processing, and we encourage you to explore the lovely grounds and tranquil setting of Promisek.  Any group processing is at the discretion and comfort level of the participants.  Yoga is offered on both days and is encouraged as a way of integrating change by connecting to and invigorating our bodies.

The Hold Me Tight Workshop was developed by Dr. Susan Johnson, an internationally renowned psychologist and the developer of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT).  The workshop incorporates the key elements of the EFT model in a series of conversations.

You and your partner will view videos of real couples and then, with the guidance of the presenters, engage in exercises to help you break out of your negative pattern or stuck place, enabling true emotional connection. This program has helped couples all over the world to move away from cycles of conflict and grow to a deeper level of intimacy.

The weekend will include partner yoga to integrate a connection to our bodies and enhance the couple experience, led by Aaron Warren from Manipura Power Yoga.
